From May 31 to June 1, 2024, the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) Division 1 (Color and Vision) and Division 2 (Optical Radiation Measurements) held their annual divisional meetings and Technical Committee (TC) meetings in Paris, France. Li Qian, the Secretary of the Sub-committee on Optical Radiation Measurements of the National Standardization Technical Committee on Electrical Lighting and the Deputy Director of the Optpelectronics research institute of Hangzhou EVERFINR Corporation, attended the D2 Annual Meeting as the Vice-Chair of CIE D2 and presided over the TC2-89 "Transient Light Modulation Measurement of Lighting Products and Systems" Technical Committee. Both the annual meeting and the TC meeting were conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation, with 24 delegates from 17 countries attending the CIE D2 meeting in person. At the CIE D2 Annual Meeting, delegates from various countries carefully reviewed the implementation of the minutes of the 2023 annual meeting, reports from the Division Chair, Division Secretary, various Technical Committees, research reports, and liaison officer reports, and engaged in technical discussions. All agenda items of the meeting were successfully completed.

The CIE-CCPR Joint Symposium held on June 3 aimed to celebrate the centenary of V(λ). The symposium was also conducted in a hybrid format, with approximately 85 on-site delegates and around 140 online delegates. The symposium was presided over by Dr. Yoshi Ohno, the former President of CIE, and was divided into five sessions. Twelve experts were invited to deliver technical reports and engage in discussions on topics such as the history of V(λ) and photometric units, CIE chromaticity and cone-based colorimetry, and cone-based photometry. During the symposium, Ms. Jeniffer Veitch, the President of CIE, announced the results of the V(λ) Centenary Artistic Creation Competition. A total of 70 entries were received from 16 countries, covering English, French, and German poems and visual works. The lighting industry in China actively participated in the competition and ultimately won one runner-up prize in English poetry and two runner-up prizes in visual arts.
