On October 10-11, CIE Division 2 successfully held the "Expert Training and Workshop on Transient Light Modulation Measurement". The conference, held in Athens, Greece, will be held offline and supplemented by online presentations. As this was the first offline event held by CIE D2 after the epidemic, representatives from all countries actively participated in the meeting, incuding Dr. Peter Blattner, President of CIE, Professor Jennifer Veitch, President Designate, and Mr. Tony Bergen, Director of CIE D2. Professor Pan Jiangen, Vice president of China Illuminating Society and CIE D2 China representative (Country Member), attended the online meeting with his team members.

In the expert training section, the conference invited experts to conduct training lectures on the basics of stroboscopic and transient light artifacts (TLA), CIE TN 012:2021 "Flicker Measurement Guide for Light Sources and lighting Systems", flicker measurement methods, calculation of stroboscopic evaluation parameters, calculation of measurement uncertainty and other topics.
During the symposium, CIE D2 selected 13 academic papers for presentation and discussion, among which, Li Qian, Vice President of EVERFINE Academy of Optoelectronics, and Dr. Chen Cong, Director of EVERFINE Detection and Calibration Center, were invited to make Characterization methods of TLM measurement instruments and Field Characterization of TLM measurement instruments Measurement of TLM Quantities in Lighting Scenarios, and together with experts from all over the world, the content of the report was deeply discussed. It is worth mentioning that Li Qian, Vice President of EVERFINE Optoelectronics, is the chairman of CIE TC2-89 Transient Light modulation Measurement Technical Committee for lighting products and systems, and as a member of the scientific committee of this CIE D2 transient light modulation measurement academic event, participated in the early event planning and review work. Following the academic event, CIE D2 held the 2022 Annual Meeting Part 2 and the Technical Committee meeting on October 12-13. Professor Pan Jiangen, Vice president of China Illuminating Engineering Society and CIE D2 China representative attended the meeting. Other representatives from China attending the meeting are: Dr. Zhang Wei, Secretary General of the National Lighting Appliance Standardization Technical Committee, Technical director of the Beijing Institute of Electric Light Source, Researcher Liu Hui and Researcher Zhao Weiqiang of the China Academy of Metrology, Vice President Li Qian of EVERFINE Academy of Optoelectronics, Director of EVERFINE Detection and Calibration Center Dr. Chen Cong, Secretary General Yue Ruisheng of the International Semiconductor Lighting Alliance, Dr. Chen Zhengxian, Taiwan Institute of Industrial Technology, and other Chinese experts participated in the CIE D2 annual meeting through online means.

Attended CIE D2 Annual Conference Phase 2
The meeting started at 13:30 Beijing time on October 12 and was chaired by Mr. Tony Bergen, CIE D2 Director. The meeting began with a review of the decisions and implementation of the first phase of the meeting held in September, followed by a detailed presentation by the Divisional Minister of the activities held by CIE D2 during the year, the votes initiated and the publications issued. Subsequently, the participants reviewed, discussed and voted on the TC progress report, TR progress report and contact progress report in detail. Finally, the presenter introduced the upcoming CIE conferences, online tutorials and forums, including the 30th CIE Congress in 2023. The meeting ended with Mr. Tony Bergen's concluding presentation of the D2 session.
The 30th CIE Congress will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on September 18-20, 2023. The theme of the conference is "Innovative lighting technology", and the majority of experts and scholars engaged in lighting scientific research are welcome to submit papers and actively participate.
